Field season started - 2008-06-06

International expert dr.Martina Meeske with the help of local specialists leads researches of European pond turtles in Lithuanian project sites. Experts catch and measure the turtles, put microtransmitters on females in order to investigate nesting places.

At the same time research on abudance of Fire-bellied toads and Great crested newts is carried out. These datas will help to compare natural and restored habitats. Afterwards recomendations for species conservation actions will be prepared.

The journalists was intrested in the researches of European pound turtles
